GB Building wins £7m Chesterfield hospital works

GB Building Solutions has secured a £7 million contract with the Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to build a new hospital wing.

The contractor, which is already currently refurbishing the hospital’s central delivery suite under a £1.3 million contract, will build the new three-story extension while the nearby wards continue to operate as normal.

The scheme is the biggest building project undertaken by the Chesterfield Royal Hospital in more than 25 years.

The original hospital was built by GB Building back in 1979, under its previous guise as the building division of MJ Gleeson.

The work will start immediately and the project is expected to take 55 weeks to complete.
