Specialist primary care developer Medicx Group is to put six new projects out to tender in the coming months worth up to nearly £20 million in total.
Medicx builds new facilities for GPs and Primary Care Trusts ranging between £2 million and £12 million in value.
Medicx chief executive Mike Adams said: “With an aging population, there is a huge need to upgrade the private health estate in the UK.
“We will be putting around six projects out to tender between now and the end of the year. We will hopefully get them on site in the first quarter of next year.”
Mr Adams said at least three projects will be put out to tender in the south, one in the Midlands and one in Scotland.
And the chief executive said he hoped he would be building at least the same amount of facilities again in 2010.
He said: “We are positive about our sector. We are very much looking for specialist in healthcare construction.
“We cannot guarantee people will get on the tenders but we are happy to speak to firms.”
Medicx also owns an investment arm which has a portfolio of 47 healthcare properties.
