A Vinci/Sir Robert McAlpine joint venture has reached financial close on a £32 million contract to build a health centre on the Wirral.
Integrated Health Projects secured the St Catherine’s Health Centre project from NHS Wirral through the ProCure 21 framework.
The job is being funded jointly by the NHS and private funding partner Prime.
The 11,100 sq m four-storey health centre will replace a range of former workhouse and sanatorium buildings dating back to the 1800s.
It will fan out around the Grade II listed St Catherine’s Church with five colour coded wings running from a central atrium.
Vinci regional director Chris Hamer said: “It’s excellent to have reached financial close on this major new health centre, which will turn the eight acre site into a new hub of health and wider care services for Wirral.
“The completion of this contract demonstrates that vehicles like Procure 21 continue to deliver valuable health sector developments, even in a more challenging market.”
ProCure 21 will be replaced by ProCure 21+ in September. Eleven firms are shortlisted for up to six places on ProCure 21+.
