Cala gears up to build Watford homes

Cala Homes is set to start work on a construction of 223 homes in Watford in the autumn.

The housebuilder has planning permission to build 91 houses and 132 appartments on the site of the Cassio Campus of West Herts College, 30 per cent of which will be affordable housing.

Cala Homes plans to start work on the scheme shortly after November 2010 when it will take vacant possession of the 4.7 ha site in Nascot Wood, just north-west of Watford. The first homes are expected to be ready in autumn next year.

The Cala Homes scheme also includes 7,500 sq ft of commercial space and public open space.
