Department for Communities and Local Government seeking private rented sector leader

The Department for Communities and Local Government is advertising a £120,000 role to head up a seven-strong taskforce to boost the private rented sector.

The director will be charged with leading government initiatives following on from the Montague Report, such as the £200m Build to Rent Fund and the £10bn fund for Housing debt guarantees.

PRS has been under the spotlight as housing volumes continue to disappoint.

The advert is for a director and six taskforce members on £70,000 a year.

It calls for an individual with excellent contacts among housebuilders, developers, institutional investors and the public sector.

The role is for one to two years. Interested parties can apply on the DCLG website.
