Higgins wins £74m in Southern housing deals

Higgins Construction has won £74m in housing contracts for five clients across London and the South-east.

Catalyst Housing Group awarded the company a £21.5m contract to design and build 138 residential units at First Central, north London, comprising 68 rental apartments and 70 for shared ownership.

Affinity Sutton has engaged Higgins in an £11.5m contract to demolish Bedford House, Croydon, and build a new medium-rise block in its place, with 99 flats and a community centre.

Peabody Trust has awarded Higgins two projects worth a combined £17m to design and build 42 units for mixed tenure in Herne Hill, London, as well as the demolition and rebuilding of four medium-rise blocks with commercial space in Medlar Street, Camberwell.

One Housing Group has awarded the company two projects worth £18m, including the design and build of Brackenbury Road, west London, comprising 24 houses, 33 apartments and 8 office units, and the building of 33 flats in Yeoman Street, south-east London.

Viridian Housing Association has also awarded a £6m contract to Higgins for the design and build of a four-storey 45-unit extra care home in Franciscan Road, Tooting.
