Inspace wins £7.4m Southwark housing job

Willmott Dixon’s social housing arm Inspace has won the first contract to build affordable and private housing units on the New Kent Road development in Southwark, south London.

The £7.4 million contract to build Lot A, one of four sites to be developed by client L&Q close to the centre of Elephant and Castle.

Lot A, which is being built to sustainable code rating three, is a seven storey block of 52 units, of which 18 are affordable and 34 are available for intermediate market rent or shared ownership through L&Q’s new UpToYou product.

Three units on the ground floor will be reserved for commercial use and five dwellings being for wheelchair users.

Work is scheduled to start on site this August, for completion in October 2010.
