Mears Group wins £50m social housing job

Mears Group today announced a £50 million six year contract from Shoreline Housing Partnership to provide repairs and maintenance services.

Social housing and care homes company Mears said the contract has the potential to be worth more than £80 million if it is given a further four-year extension.

Shoreline is a registered social landlord which manages 8,200 homes around Grimsby which were previously the subject of a stock transfer from North East Lincolnshire Council.

The contract has the potential to develop in to an all encompassing solution to cover every part of Shoreline’s housing maintenance provision post 2010.

Mears Group chief executive Bob Holt said: “We would not achieve these levels of contract wins without the great references that we get from our existing clients.

“Our strategy, based upon long term partnerships, delivering customer excellence, innovation and investment in our people, continues to be the driver behind winning good quality contracts that provide clear and sustainable margins.

“Our order book stands at £1.6 billion and the visibility of future revenues has been further enhanced.”
