Mears wins £80m Richmond repairs contract

Exclusive: Mears Group has won a repairs contract for 8,700 homes for Richmond Housing Partnership understood to be worth £80m.

The contract will provide routine and gas repairs, gas servicing, voids and planned services for RHP from June onwards.

It will run for an initial five years, and includes the option to extend for an additional five.

Mears has worked with the partnership for over a decade.

2,000 of the properties are leasehold and 6,700 are tenanted.

RHP director of property services Anna Benbow said the procurement process had involved a “high level of input” from customers, and had asked contractors to show commitment to RHP’s customer service ethos.

“We really look forward to continuing our partnership with Mears, taking our repairs service to the next level and fixing it fast to last for our customers.”

The contract will also include opportunities for local apprenticeships, with five planned for the first year.
