Amey has won a £235m environmental and infrastructure services contract with Trafford Council.
The 15-year deal will see Amey provide highways and property services, as well as waste collection, street cleaning and street lighting.
It is intended that the contract, which Amey chief executive Mel Ewell described as “pioneering”, will produce a £2.25m saving for the council in 2015/16.
Mr Ewell said: “Trafford Council is taking a pioneering approach to the way services are provided and we are delighted to be working with them on this contract.
“Combining these services allows us to support Trafford Council with efficiency savings whilst ensuring a high quality service is delivered to local residents.”
Trafford Council leader Sean Anstee, said: “Trafford Council is pleased to be working in partnership with Amey and I am confident that, following the 12-month tender process, they are the right contractor to fulfil this brief.
“I was impressed with their tender response which demonstrated a great approach to partnership working which will be of benefit to both the residents and the council as well as satisfying a whole range of requirements which will ensure the continued high-quality maintenance of the borough.”
