Horizon completes framework with fourth partner

Jacobs Engineering Group has become the fourth and final company chosen to provide technical design services to Horizon Nuclear Power’s new station in Wylfa, Anglesey.

The win follows three other strategic contracts awarded earlier this month to Amec, Atkins and Cavendish Nuclear.

Jacobs, the three other suppliers and their supply chains will work with Horizon over the next three years on consultancy and technical design on the Wylfa site.

All four groups were chosen following a competitive procurement process and will help Horizon gear up for the station’s main construction, set to start on site in 2018.

The company is also developing a power station at Oldbury in South Gloucestershire.

Horizon chief operating officer Alan Raymant said: “We are delighted to welcome Jacobs as our fourth and final framework partner.

“We look forward to working with our new strategic suppliers and their supply chains, as we gather momentum and continue to progress our detailed plans ahead of our first formal public consultation next year.”

Horizon will procure other works outside the framework and said suppliers interested in opportunities should get in touch via its supplier portal.
