Sellafield opens bidding on £250m design and construction contract

Bids are being invited for a £250 million contract for design and construction work at the nuclear power station at Sellafield.

The contract includes design, procurement, manufacture, installation, construction and commissioning of a Silo Maintenance Facility.

The winning bidder will work alongside the Sellafield team to deliver the concept and preliminary design.

In phase two the contractor will be responsible for completing the detailed design and procurement of long lead items of plant and equipment.

The contract will be worth between £125m and £250m and will run from 28 October 2011 to 31 May 2017.

Bids should be received by 22 February 2011.
