Capita Symonds to manage £40m Bristol City Football Club's Ashton Gate stadium redevelopment

Bristol Sport has chosen Capita Symonds to project manage Bristol City FC’s £40m Ashton Gate redevelopment, as an alternative to the £60m Ashton Vale plan.

If the club is unable to proceed with plans to build an entirely new stadium at Ashton Vale, the Ashton Gate plan – involving the redevelopment of the current site - will be brought forward.

The Ashton Gate scheme, expected to take three years, would be completed in time for the 2016/17 season.

It would comprise new stands and pitch widening, with the Wedlock and Williams stands demolished and new stands built in their place.

The Dolman and Atyeo stands would also be renovated.

As well as project management services, Capita Symonds would be engaged to provide cost management and CDMC services.

The plans are to be presented to the local council for approval in the summer.
