Vinci wins £24m Volkswagen contract

Vinci Construction UK has won a £24m contract to build a new headquarters for Volkswagen Financial Services.

The high-spec office building is to be leased to VWFS by property investment and development company UK & European Investments.

Ayr (Jersey) is the client on the scheme, which received planning permission in October 2012 and is due for completion in August 2014.

The building, in Tongwell, Milton Keynes, will provide 10,558 sq m of office space over four floors.

VWFS is a subsidiary of German parent company VWFS AG, established in Germany in 1949, which is now Europe’s largest automotive vehicle financial services organisation.

VWFS AG in turn is wholly owned by Volkswagen AG, the global car manufacturer.

The UK administrative and operational headquarters are based at Milton Keynes, with 400 people employed.

Vinci Construction UK building division Midlands director Mike Voss said: “We are delighted to be working with Ayr (Jersey) Ltd to provide this high-quality office development.

“Visually the scheme will be an iconic building in Milton Keynes and reflects how the region is becoming an increasingly important destination for business.”
