Outsourcer Mitie has won a £500 million contract to deliver a major facilities and property management contract for Essex Country Council.
Details of the partnership are currently being finalised with final sign off expected in the coming weeks.
An announcement will be made shortly with full details.
Essex County Council cabinet member Councillor Louis said: “This new partnership will result in a better quality service and will achieve annual savings of £3.1m a year. I look forward to announcing full details of this new partnership shortly.£
Mitie chief executive Ruby McGregor-Smith said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for Mitie to deliver a transformational outsourcing offering for Essex County Council and we are looking forward to developing our relationship with them.”
The contract is among the first wave to large scale total FM packages to be awarded in the wake of the Comprehensive Spending Review.
Other councils including Oxford are procuring similar deals.
