Construction News has been shortlisted for Publication of the Year in Press Gazette’s first British Journalism Awards for Specialist Media.
CN will go up against five other titles for the award, which recognises the best titles across all types of specialist and trade media in finance, health, education, technology, the built environment and more.
Three built environment titles are shortlisted for the award, with CN sister title The Architects’ Journal and Inside Housing also on the list, alongside HSJ, The New European and Pulse.
CN infrastructure reporter Jack Simpson is also shortlisted in the Built Environment Journalist category for work including investigations into Carillion’s collapse and HS2.
Press Gazette editor-in-chief Dominic Ponsford said: “Judging these awards provided a great reminder of the richness and diversity of Britain’s journalism industry when it comes to the business and specialist sectors.
“There was ample evidence of innovation, investigation and revelation by journalists who clearly know and care deeply about their various patches.”
Recent awards won by CN include being named mental health charity Mind’s Best Publication for our Mind Matters campaign, as well as individual accolades for Jack Simpson and Lucy Alderson in PPA’s 30 under 30 and MHP’s 30 to Watch.
The Press Gazette Awards take place on Monday 17 September.
