Morgan Sindall JV wins £500m National Grid deal

Morgan Sindall joint venture MSVE Transmission has been named preferred bidder for a potential £500 million contract to build and upgrade National Grid’s overhead lines for the next five years.

The JV with Vinci Energies is expected to replace fittings on a 400kV overhead line as well as a variety of projects to refurbish and construct overhead lines and towers across England and Wales

Paul Smith, chief executive of Morgan Sindall Group, said: “We are seeing a number of opportunities in the energy sector and the combination of our specialist skills and experience of working with energy providers leaves us well placed to benefit from this trend.

“This is an excellent appointment for our construction and infrastructure business which firmly emphasises our market-leading position,” Mr Smith said.
