Network Rail invites four for £25m structural repairs job

Balfour Beatty, Bam Nuttall, Hochtief and Skanska have been invited to tender for a £25 million structural repairs job in Bermondsey by Network Rail.

The successful contractor will build the new “Bermondsey dive under”, a split-grade crossing for access to the Brighton route from London Bridge without obstructing the city-bound services from Kent.

Work is expected to start in April and take up to two years to complete.

A contractor appointment is due in March.

The job forms part of Network Rail’s Thameslink Programme which will radically overhaul the track layout to the east of London Bridge.
