Olympic director to join Laing O'Rourke

Laing O’Rourke has announced Howard Shiplee, director of construction at the Olympic Delivery Authority, will be joining the firm from the autumn.

Shiplee managed £7.25 billion construction programme for London 2012, which came in on time and under budget.

His building portfolio also includes Manchester Airport’s Terminal 2 as well as the redevelopment of Ascot Racecourse. He has built projects for Amec, High-Point Rendel, Bovis and Network Rail.

O’Rourke would not confirm the role Shiplee would be taking on.
