Contractors sought for £16.5m science centre

The Welcome Trust is seeking a contractor to build a £16.5 million office at the European Bioinformatics Institute in Cambridge.

Known as the Technical Hub, the building will accommodate 225 staff.

The building will be on the Genome Campus at Hinxton Hall in Cambridgeshire and the works include extensive landscaping and a below ground car park for 70 cars.

Work is expected to begin in spring 2012 and complete at the end of 2013.

Five contractors will be shortlisted following the pre-qualification stage.
