Aberystwyth University seeks £160m student community scheme

Aberystwyth University is seeking a contracting partner to deliver a student scheme worth up to £160 million.

The university is seeking tenders to develop its greenfield Penglais Farm Site into a student community with around 1,000 residential places along with leisure and recreational spaces and possible added retail and catering outlets.

The construction phase is expected to take more than two years to complete and the university will consider various contract structures but envisages being the landlord to the students and retaining the right to nominate rooms.

Between three and six bidders will be drawn up for the contract and parties interested in tendering should contact John Clayton at jyc@aber.ac.uk.
