Bam to build £17.5m Sheffield nuclear research centre

Bam Construction has won a £17.5 million contract to build the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre for the University of Sheffield.

The 8,000 sq m building, located at the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Sheffield, will feature 2,500 sq m of workshop space and 2,500 sq m of support space.

The NAMRC led by the University of Sheffield with Rolls-Royce and supported by the University of Manchester.

It will be a centre of excellence for research and development of advanced manufacturing technologies for the UK nuclear industry.

Bam’s contract is estimated to run for 13 month.
