Bids invited for £30m Aberdeen swimming pool job

Contractors are being invited to bid for a two year £30 million contract to build a new swimming pool complex next to the Aberdeen Sports Village.

The development - on the former Linksfield Academy and swimming pool site – will feature a 50 metre swimming pool with either eight or 10 lanes, a separate diving pool, and spectator seating as well as changing rooms, health suite, land conditioning, office accommodation and reception.

The contract may also include the demolition of the existing buildings on the site.

Bidders will have to submit two separate tender packages, based on an eight-lane and 10-lane and swimming pool.

Up to six firms will be shortlisted and invited to tender for the contract on 12 November.

The deadline for pre-qualification questionnaires is 17 June.
