Bids invited for £46m Isle of Wight highways deal

Isle of Wight Council is inviting bids for a six year highway maintenance contract worth £46 million.

Work will take place at various sites throughout the Isle of Wight highway and rights of way networks - each total approximately 500 miles - and is scheduled to begin in autumn 2009.

The contract is initially for three years, with up to a three year extension granted in three twelve month terms.

Firms have until 23 June to register their interest. Six contractors will be invited to tender.
