Foreign & Commonwealth Office invites UK bids for British High Commission

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office is seeking a contractor to build a £19 million new office for the British High Commission in Nigeria.

Work will involve the construction of around 5,200 sq m of concrete frame offices in two blocks, generally of three-storey construction plus a lower semi basement level.

Offices will incorporate mechanical ventilation and cooling. Associated accommodation includes a fully fitted out medical clinic, mechanics and other workshops and external works.

The OJEU notice states: “The contractor will be required to undertake construction to a high standard of workmanship, equivalent to those found on European Headquarter projects using significant amounts of imported materials and to complete construction to a defined completion date 20 months after award of contract.”

All works will be carried out under one contract which will be based on NEC3 option B (with bills of quantities). All project documentation will be in English. The works will not be let in packages but as a single entire contract.

The deadline for tenders or requests to participate is 4 March at 11am.
