Black & Veatch/Morrison JV wins £31m Scottish Water contract

Scottish Water has awarded a £31 million storm water management contract to Black & Veatch in a joint venture with Morrison Construction.

The contract will involve the design and implementation of a £31m initial phase of a storm water management project that will improve surface water quality for more than 80,000 people in north and east Ayrshire.

President and CEO of Black & Veatch’s global water business, Dan McCarthy said: “Black & Veatch is a leader in developing sustainable solutions for storm water management challenges in communities worldwide, improving the quality of local water ways and the surrounding environment.

“Our integrated global workforce enables us to apply best practices, advanced technologies and processes to these complex programs, regardless of location.

The initial phase of the project is scheduled for completion in January 2013. Project execution in the Kilmarnock area will be phased in order to ensure delivery of the most robust and cost effective design. The first phase of this work will take place between Gatehead and Irvine.
