Brookfield Multiplex confirms Leicester Square job

Brookfield Multplex has confirmed its appointment as main contractor to LSQ London, the 109,000 sq ft office and retail development in Leicester Square.

Construction intelligence unit Glenigan said Multiplex had beaten Skanska and Sir Robert McAlpine to the job.

Brookfield Multiplex joins a team that includes CORE as development managers, Make Architects as architects, WT Partnership as quantity surveyors, Watermans as structural engineers and Hilson Moran as service engineers.

Formerly known as 48 Leicester Square, LSQ London comprises the entire western side of Leicester Square, and the new building will provide 92,000 sq ft over seven floors of Grade A offices and 17,000 sq ft of retail space over three floors.

The new office building will be accessed from a new entrance on Panton Street.

Demolition of the existing building is under way, and completion of LSQ London will be in Q3 2016.
