C Spencer replaces insolvent Ashford on £15m Birmingham job

Work has started again on the regeneration of Birmingham’s coach station after a new contractor was appointed to replace the insolvent Ashford Construction.

National Express has appointed C Spencer to carry out the £15 million regeneration of Digbeth Coach Station.

Work recommenced on the site after a four week break, and as the project was ahead of schedule, the coach station is still on track to be completed by the end of November.

The coach station is scheduled to open to the public at the beginning of December, ready for the Christmas holidays.

C Spencer chief operating officer Gary Thornton said: “We are delighted to have been asked by national express to help complete this prestigious project, and we look forward to working with the team to deliver an outstanding facility for the people of Birmingham.”
