Taylor Woodrow to build new Hayes and Harlington Crossrail station

Hillingdon Council has approved plans for the redevelopment of Hayes and Harlington station as part of the Crossrail programme.

Taylor Woodrow, part of the Vinci group, will build the new glass and steel main station building to the north of the existing station.

The redevelopment will also include a footbridge and four lifts, a waiting room, and platform extensions and replacement canopies.

Work is due to begin in late spring for 18 months.

From the end of 2017 the new station will be run by Transport for London, before Crossrail begins operating a full service in 2019.

Crossrail surface director Matthew White said: “Crossrail will provide a step change in public transport for local people – better stations, new trains and faster journeys.

“The new building will properly reflect the importance of the station to the area and, together with the broader improvements, will make using the station a much more pleasant experience.”
