Durkan wins £11.5m Surrey housing job

Durkan has won a £11.5 million construction contract to build a 94 unit housing development for Elmbridge Housing Association & Accent Peerless in Addlestone, Surrey.

The development, situated on disused heath land will involve the design and construction of a mix of houses and flats – up to three-storeys tall - to be used for shared ownership and affordable rent.

The timber frame homes, which will achieve Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4, include a range of sustainable and energy saving features including photovoltaic panels, which will provide electricity to every home, and high quality insulation to guarantee low U-values.

The scheme will provide a 15 per cent reduction in total carbon emissions, exceeding compliance to the standard assessment procedure.
