Amazon appoints Rise for fit-out of London headquarters at Principal Place

Construction consultant Rise has bagged a major contract with Amazon for the fit-out of its new London headquarters at Principal Place.

Construction News understands the firm was appointed ahead of rivals Mace and Gardiner & Theobald to project manage the fit-out of the office, including the construction monitoring of its shell and core.

Principal Place is a mixed-use project developed by Brookfield, featuring office, residential and retail space.

The Foster and Partners-designed scheme has 600,000 sq ft of office space, with Amazon occupying 440,000 sq ft of the building.

Rise has grown considerably over the last five years and now employs around 100 staff. The company was founded by Gareth Stapleton along with Mace founder Bob White and former Mace director Ian Eggers, the latter of whom left the business in May last year.
