Five to bid for £50m Crossrail Paddington New Yard

Crossrail has invited five teams to tender for its £50 million Paddington New Yard deal.

The scope of the work covers contractor design, site clearance, a new elevated bus deck and road construction including drainage.

Five to tender for C336 Paddington New Yard:

Work includes site clearance – comprising breaking out concrete and clearing the area below the existing Tarmac batching plant and also providing temporary works generally required to construct the works.

A new 180 m-long by 40 m-wide elevated bus deck will also be built.

Final track formation works comprising grading works for final rail configuration and Network Rail track drainage and tie-in to the Marcon Sewer are also part of the deal.

The Paddington New Yard site contains both the Royal Oak portal and Westbourne Park worksites.

Work also includes:

  • Green lane bridge protection – comprising protection works to north bridge abutment
  • Royal Oak portal headhouse and landscaping – comprising concrete slab with single-storey headhouse building including M&E, walkway and intervention staircase, handrails and fencing and landscaping to Royal Oak Portal and road to headhouse.
