Gleeds bags role on £75m BHS building redevelopment in Glasgow

Gleeds has been picked by investor and asset manager Formal Investments to project and cost manage a £75m BHS redevelopment in Glasgow. 

Formal Investments has outlined plans to build a new 12-storey building on Bath Street incorporating 130,000 sq ft of office space.

The former BHS building on Bath Street will be extensively redeveloped and improvements will be made to a third building on Sauchiehall Street.

The site is located in one of the main shopping and business areas in Glasgow.

Gleeds will managing the entire programme of works once planning permission has been received. Work is expected to start in summer 2017.

Last month the consultant bagged a place on Scape’s £350m consultancy framework as part of a joint venture with Aecom and Pick Everard.

The framework is a merger between two of Scape’s existing frameworks: the National Asset Management, Surveying & Design Services framework; and the National Project Management and Quantity Surveying framework.
