Holland Park School scheme re-tendered as £50m job

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is set to re-tender a £50 million improvement scheme at Holland Park School after abandoning the original procurement process.

The work was first advertised in April 2006 as either a £45 million demolition and new build job, or a £25 million refurbishment, but is now likely to be procured as a three year version of the first option through an accelerated procedure.

The contractor will have to carry out phased demolition of the existing school and complete a new 17,000 sq m school building by August 2012 and an underground car park by May 2013.

A temporary school must also be provided on site during construction.

Expressions of interest are due by 30 November and a maximum of six contractors will be invited to tender.
