The London Borough of Hounslow is inviting contractors to register their interest in its long-anticipated highways maintenance PFI, which could be worth up to £1.4 billion.
Work to be carried under the contract, which will run for between 25 and 30 years, includes maintenance of carriageways, footways, streetlights, signs, traffic signals, bridges and street furniture.
Contractors will also be required to design and build new improvement schemes.
The PFI credit allocation from the government for this project is estimated at £267 million.
The council plans to launch an OJEU contract notice in the near future and will be running an information event on Monday 7 December at the London Borough of Hounslow Civic Centre.
