Laing O’Rourke has won its third contract on Imperial College London’s 10 ha White City Campus redevelopment.
The £76.2m project is the next major phase of the redevelopment, involving the construction of a 215,000 sq ft residential tower.
Once complete it will provide 192 homes.
Imperial’s White City Campus development director Graham Stark said: “The tower is an integral part of our new 10-ha innovation campus and further establishes Imperial’s presence in the area for generations to come.
“The campus itself is the largest single development in the college’s history and offers huge potential for the local area.”
Laing O’Rourke will finish construction of two schemes in the first phase of the development in the coming months.
This includes a 270,000 sq ft Molecular Science Research Hub and 250,000 sq ft Translation and Innovation Hub.
The contractor was chosen by the college’s development partner Vorenda.
It is due to start building the residential tower in May, with completion in 2019.
