Leadbitter scoops £49m university scheme

Leadbitter has won a £49 million contract to work on the redevelopment of a student campus in Cornwall.

The contractor will work on three major projects on the Tremough Campus in Penryn.

It will build University College Falmouth’s Academy for Innovation & Research, University of Exeter’s Environment and Sustainability Institute, and a jointly owned space called the Exchange.

Rob Bradley, regional director for Leadbitter’s Western Construction division, said: “We are delighted to continue our relationship with University College Falmouth and the University of Exeter at the Tremough Campus. Our team is looking forward to delivering these three exciting projects over the next 18 months and to the students, staff and local businesses benefiting from these fantastic new buildings in 2012.”
