Lovell in £38m triple contract win

Lovell has won three affordable homes contracts totalling over £38m for West Lothian Council, Scotland.

Lovell will deliver a total of 443 new council homes as part of the authority’s new-build housing programme.

The Morgan Sindall subsidiary will build 195 homes by December 2016, in Wester Inch, Bathgate; Redhouse West, Blackburn; and Pumpherston, totalling £17.5m.

In additional it will build 230 homes in an £18.1m development in Kirkhill, Broxburn, which is due for completion by April 2017.

The contractor has also started work on a 18-home redevelopment of the former Broxburn Primary School, totalling £2.6m. The scheme is set to finish in summer 2015.

The contracts are expected to create 16 construction apprenticeships; 18 trainee jobs; four graduate jobs; and 41 work placements.

This is Lovell’s fourth year of working with the council.
