Lovell wins £4.2m Birmingham housing job

Affordable housing builder Lovell has been awarded a £4.2 million housing development for Midland Heart in Winson Green, Birmingham.

The development on Bacchus Road will consist of 18 two-bedroom apartments and 23 two, three and four-bedroom houses.

The is the first scheme Lovell has won since its appointment to the Midland Heart new-build contractor framework - for housing projects valued between £2 million and £10 million - earlier this year.

Work on the 41-home development is due to begin shortly with completion expected in Spring 2011.

All homes will be built to Level Three of the Code of Sustainable Homes, which measures the environmental performance of new housing and is a prerequisite for all of Midland Heart’s new-build developments.
