Mansell wins Shotfield health centre job

Mansell has won a contract to build a new health centre in Shotfield, Surrey, for Shotfield Business Development Ltd.

The development will create a three-storey traditional brick clad building to replace the existing medical centre.

It will provide local people with an increased range of services including minor procedures, outpatient clinics and diagnostic services, a new pharmacy, community mental health services, and an expanded community dental clinic in addition to the two existing GP Practices.

The new centre is part of NHS Sutton and Merton’s Better Healthcare Closer to Home strategy to develop local, modern health services so that, wherever possible, people can be treated outside hospitals, in more convenient community settings, closer to where they live.

The existing building has been demolished and completion of the new centre is planned for late summer 2011.
