McGee wins £6.7m Kings Cross job

McGee has won the structural alteration package on the listed Western Range Building at Kings Cross Station.

The £6.7 million job will last 46 weeks and comprise all asbestos removal, salvage and soft strip, temporary works design and installation, structural alteration and installation of permanent steel and concrete structures throughout the building.

The work forms part of the Network Rail £400 million station redevelopment at Kings Cross. The Western Range includes a row of shops in a listed building along the Western side of the station.

McGee recently completed the new Shared Service Yard basement for Vinci on the adjacent Package 4 works, which is part of Argent’s, Kings Cross regeneration master plan.
