McLaren chosen to build Rolls-Royce centre for Bericote Properties

McLaren Construction has been chosen by Bericote Properties to build a technology and logistics centre for Rolls-Royce.

The 30,000 sq m facility at the Oldlands Farm Business Park is on the northern edge of Bognor Regis.

Construction has begun and McLaren is expected to complete the facility in a 48-week timeframe.

McLaren last year completed Jaguar Land Rover’s new manufacturing plant in Solihull.

Among its previous jobs with Bericote is as main contractor for a £30m distribution centre for Asda in Warrington and a £43m Asda facility in Bristol.

McLaren Construction regional managing director (South) David Murphy said: “We are extremely proud to have been appointed as the main contractor to deliver this exciting new development for a loyal and respected customer such as Bericote.

“We look forward to furthering our track record in the automotive sector and bringing our expertise to bear on the delivery of what will be a high-profile facility for Rolls-Royce and a prominent development in the context of the ‘Enterprise Bognor Regis’ plan.”

Bericote Properties of Lee Pettit said: “We are pleased to be working again with McLaren Construction, which has successfully delivered major projects for Bericote throughout our long-standing relationship and we look forward to the new Technology and Logistics Centre for Rolls-Royce to be completed to the same industry-leading standards.”
