McLaren lands £34m Waitrose warehouse

Gazeley Properties has awarded McLaren Construction the £34m contract to build a new distribution centre for Waitrose.

The 938,500 sq ft facility at Gazeley’s Magna Park in Milton Keynes will be the largest distribution centre built in the UK in the past two years, and it will be the first national facility for Waitrose.

McLaren will build a two-story office building and deliver external works including highway works and vehicle wash and fuel islands.

McLaren Construction managing director Phil Pringle said: “We are delighted to be awarded this contract and very much look forward to working closely again with Gazeley Properties to successfully deliver this important facility for Waitrose within the stipulated time frame.”

Work began on 17 March and is due to be completed within 32 weeks.
