Morgan Sindall wins Western Power Distribution framework

Western Power Distribution has appointed Morgan Sindall to a three-year framework in the West Midlands worth around £90m.

The company will deliver excavation, cable-laying and reinstatement works within Western Power Distribution’s West Midlands region.

The framework agreement will run for an initial three years from November, with an estimated annual value of £30m.

There are also options to extend the agreement for two additional one-year periods.

Work will involve maintaining and improving the electricity network across the Midlands with the installation of distribution cables ranging from 11 kV to 33 kV, and undertaking planned and reactive works.

Morgan Sindall utility services managing director Simon Smith said: “This framework agreement expands on the work Morgan Sindall is currently undertaking for Western Power Distribution in the north Midlands. This is a key win for our utility services business.

“Our significant experience in this specialist sector provides us with a solid foundation for the start of this new framework and we look forward to continuing our successful relationship with Western Power Distribution.”
