Morgan Sindall wins Walsall shopping centre scheme

Morgan Sindall will redevelop a West Midlands shopping centre as part of a town centre regeneration.

The contractor will redevelop Old Square Shopping Centre in Walsall as the first phase of regeneration of the town.

The scheme involves the demolition of part of a Tesco supermarket and surrounding units and construction of a 54,000 sq ft development to house fashion store Primark and Mid-Counties Co-Operative supermarket.

The project is due to complete in the first quarter of 2015. Walsall Council is putting approximately £8m into the scheme.
