Northern Ireland £100m A8 upgrade out to tender

The Northern Ireland department for regional development roads service is inviting bids for the £100 million dualling of the A8 between Belfast and Larne.

If the public inquiry is successful the main contractor will take the project forward in two phases, with a clear break point at the end of the statutory procedures, before progressing to the construction phase.

The work, covering 14km of road, will span between Hillhead Road and Ballyrickard Road.

Up to six teams will be shortlisted for the job, with tenders to participate due in on 3 June.
