Oldham tenders £180m BSF contract

Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council has advertised a £180 million Building Schools for the Future project in the Official Journal of the European Union.

The selected contractor will form a Local Education Partnership with the council to deliver the work under the contract, which could be extended by five years.

The project will involve the delivery of four new and six remodelled facilities. They will be delivered through a mixture of PFI and design/build financing.

Phase 1 is likely to include North Chadderton School (D&B refurbishment) Oldham Roman Catholic School (new build PFI) as sample schemes.

Contractors have until 7 August to express an interest in the 10 year deal.
