Ringway Jacobs wins £147m Cheshire roads job

Ringway Jacobs has scooped Cheshire East Council’s five-year highway maintenance contract, worth up to £147 million.

It will take over the highways service provision from current provider Bam Nuttall on 6 October 2011.

The scope of the contract includes routine and reactive maintenance on carriageways and footways as well as structural repairs, surfacing and capital schemes. The contractor will also have to carry out winter maintenance and professional services such as design work.

The contractors to lose out on the deal at the final procurement stage were Atkins and Amey.
