Rydon wins first new build free school job

Rydon will be the first contractor to design and construct a new build free school created by the Government’s Free School under a £2.8 million contract.

The firm will build the school, which will accommodate 210 primary school pupils, in Muswell Hill, north London, for Eden Primary Trust.

The project, which was procured through the National Contractors’ Framework, will deliver a one form per year primary school comprising seven class-bases, a school hall, kitchen, administration offices and associated support facilities.

The school, designed by architects Hunters, is expected to be complete in time for the start of the new academic year in September 2012.
