East Ayrshire Council is looking to appoint sole contractor for £50m campus

East Ayrshire Council is looking to appoint a sole contractor to deliver a £50m campus project.

The winning contractor will provide three primary schools, two academies and further education and business enterprise facilities.

Contractors must have a minimum turnover of £100m for the last three years in order to bid and five bidders will be invited to tender in October.

Construction is expected to be carried out between April 2017 and July 2019.

This is the latest in the line of education sector projects that have been delivered across Scotland in the last nine months.

Graham Construction won a £60m contract to deliver two schools and a support centre in Dumfries (pictured) at the start of this month.

The project was procured through the £500m Hub South West Scotland framework and funded by the Scottish Government’s Schools for the Future national programme.
